FARM STEPS CIC Terms and Conditions & Data Privacy Statement

Application for the course is considered acceptance of the terms and conditions and the data privacy statement outlined in this document. 

General Terms 

  • Attendees acceptance of an offered place on the course is deemed to constitute acceptance of the below conditions. 

  • All education on this course is provided free of charge.  

  • Food will be provided during the residential weekend – included food will be communicated clearly and any extra food will be at the expense of attendees.  

  • No alcohol will be provided by FARM STEPS CIC at any point during the weekend.  

  • Food included within the course is: Friday dinner, one course, Saturday breakfast, Saturday Lunch, Saturday dinner, one course and Sunday breakfast. There will be snacks and refreshments available throughout.  

  • Accepting the terms and conditions indicates you have made FARM STEPS CIC of any relevant allergies. Attendees are responsible for their own safety during the course.  

  • FARM STEPS CIC accepts no liability for accident, illness or injury during this weekend residential course.  

 

Accommodation

  • Accommodation is provided in a hostel with provision for one room per attendee . There will be no shared sleeping spaces.

  • Accommodation has shared bathroom facilities with separate male and female options. 

  • If an attendee has any concerns regarding accommodation arrangements, they must raise      this with a member of the FARM STEPS CIC team as soon as possible      

  • FARM STEPS CIC reserves the right to remove any person from the venue and/or course if their behaviour is considered inappropriate. We will not hesitate in doing so. Any individuals asked to leave will not be assisted in returning home and will have no further access to the accommodation, food or drinks provided.  

 

Health and Safety  

  • FARM STEPS CIC courses can take place on      commercial working farms. A health and safety briefing will be provided by course leaders at the start of a course. Attendees must      always follow advice and instructions from the course leaders to ensure safety on farms.

  • Failure to comply with health and safety guidelines outlined by our staff will result in removal from the event.  

  • All activities conducted on FARM STEPS CIC courses will be risk assessed before arrival. Ultimately attendees are responsible for their own safety on farm.  

  • Hi-Viz must be worn at all times when moving around the farmyards. This will be provided.  

  • It is the responsibility of attendees to make FARM STEPS CIC course leaders aware of any relevant medical conditions (including allergies or medication requirements) before arrival at any Farm Steps events. There is a zero tolerance policy for use of drugs. Attendees will be removed from the venue and the police will be informed.   

Biosecurity  

  • Attendees should be mindful of the biosecurity risk when visiting host farms. Please bring clean personal protective equipment (PPE) - this includes waterproofs and wellington boots. These may be checked by FARM STEPS CIC ahead of entering the farm premises. 

  • Attendees should contact FARM STEPS CIC if they require any clarification or guidance about appropriate clothing for Farm Steps events 

  • Disinfectant to scrub down waterproofs, wellington boots, and any other personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be used entering and exiting farm      premises.  

 

Travel between Course Venues (including farms)      

  • Travel between course venues (including farms ) will either be via a minibus or the course leader's vehicles. Attendees      may drive their      own vehicle between farms if preferred.  

  • FARM STEPS CIC accepts no liability for accident or injury during travel between venues.  

 

Booking Policy 

  • Booked places may not be transferred, any attendees must have applied and been selected via our google form.  

  • If an attendee is no longer able to attend a Farm Steps event, they are required to inform FARM STEPS CIC with four weeks' notice, or as soon as possible if within four weeks of the start date.

  • In the unlikely event of a Farm Steps course being cancelled, FARM STEPS CIC will not reimburse any costs incurred (such as travel).

 

Education Programme 

  • Whilst the programme is correct at the time of going to press, FARM STEPS CIC reserves the right to change details of the event without notice.  

 

Your Place on the course  

  • Attendees will receive confirmation of selection for the course as soon as possible. 

  • FARM STEPS CIC is not responsible for errors made in providing your contact details. 

 

Photography 

  • Photography will take place during this residential weekend. All photographs may be used for marketing purposes. Attendees should inform a course leader if they do not wish to be included in any close-up photography. 

  • All images become the property of FARM STEPS CIC 

 

Feedback  

  •  All attendees will be asked to provide feedback via a google form following the event. 

Data Protection 
Farm Steps CIC will hold personal information for both applicants and attendees. Farm Steps CIC’s data protection policy explains how that information will be held. Our data protection policy can be found on the website or a copy can be requested by emailing farmstepsinfo@gmail.com.

Full name 
Contact details (e.g. email address, phone number, postal address)
Dietary and accessibility requirements (where relevant).
Any other information voluntarily provided when registering for our courses

Register and manage attendance at Farm Steps training courses.
Communicate important event information.
Meet any applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
We do not use information for marketing purposes without explicit consent.

Personal data is stored on secure, password-protected servers. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
